Job Summary:
The Billing and Coding Specialist is responsible for supporting the department in maximizing revenue and cash flow by validating ICD and CPT codes, performing charge entries, following up on all outstanding A/R, including resolution of denials, and generating effective written appeals to carriers to maximize reimbursement on incorrectly denied claims. The Billing and Coding Specialist handles all correspondence related to an insurance or patient account, contacting carriers, patients, and other facilities as needed to get maximum payment on accounts and identify issues or changes. They utilize training and knowledge to interpret, understand, and apply appropriate coding, apply complex Medicare guidelines to reduce claim denials, and consistently practice established Peak standards and expectations to achieve superior client satisfaction and retention.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Enter and validate procedures and diagnosis based on documentation obtained from patient records.
- Review clinical documentation and validate ICD/CPT Codes when necessary and applicable.
- Assist with coding audits as necessary/needed.
- Perform accurate analysis of medical records to obtain necessary information for the appropriate sequencing and assignment of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPS codes.
- Validate and verify data entered by reviewing reports for errors and correcting as necessary.
- Collaborate with managers in assigned areas and provide feedback regarding documentation issues or reoccurring errors.
- Ensure timely follow-up of unpaid claims, resolution of denials, and other payer-related correspondence through appropriate research and appeal processes.
- Resolve claim rejections, underpayments, and denials with appropriate payer and initiate collection follow-up of unpaid or denied claims, interpreting remittances to determine appropriate course of action.
- Identify and respond to patterns of denials or billing practices and perform complex account investigation as needed, to achieve resolution.
- Pursue reimbursement from carriers by placing phone calls and recording all contact in an electronic tracking system, ensuring progress is made on outstanding accounts.
- Coordinate third party collections and work toward the successful reduction in outstanding balances for assigned divisions or projects.
- Maintain patient confidentiality according to compliance policies and HIPPAA.
- Respond to inquiries from insurance carriers via telephone, email and/or fax, demonstrating a high level of customer service.
- Review and resolve uncollected accounts and prepare charge corrections and write offs.
- Special projects as assigned.

Job Summary:
The CRNA is responsible for administering anesthesia care for scheduled procedures, monitoring the patient’s vital signs and overseeing patient recovery. The CRNA will coordinate care with other perioperative personnel during the preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative phases and will respond to emergent airway management within the clinic as needed/necessary. The CRNA will care for patients at all acuity levels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-anesthetic assessments and patient evaluations and select, order, and/or administer pre-anesthetic medications.
- Review, request, and order laboratory/diagnostic studies
- Develop and implement an anesthesia care plan.
- Induce and maintain general anesthesia and monitor life functions during surgical procedures.
- Take immediate, corrective action during adverse responses to medication/drugs or as complications arise, to include airway management, administration of emergency drugs and fluids, and using basic and advanced cardiac life support techniques.
- Initiate and administer respiratory support to ensure adequate ventilation and oxygenation in the post anesthesia period.
- Select and prescribe post-anesthesia medications or treatments to patients.

Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant is responsible for performing basic clinical duties, routine patient care, and standard clerical duties to support medical providers in the care and treatment of patients. The Medical Assistant will build and sustain positive, productive relationships that support the clinic and the patient. They will escort patients to pre-operative areas, take and record vital signs and ask patient questions regarding symptoms, concerns, and medical history.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet and room patients, assist RN with patient vital signs, drawing blood, repositioning and pre and post-operative instructions.
- Record patient medical history, vital statistics, and additional pertinent information, such as test results, in medical record.
- Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition as necessary.

Job Summary:
The Nurse Practitioner works in collaboration with, and is an integral member of, our health care team. The NP examines and treats patients independently and in autonomous collaboration with the treating physician. They ensure proper illness and injury care, assist in disease prevention management, diagnosis, treatment and recovery. The NP will also be involved in follow up out-patient visits. Job Summary:
The Patient Access Representative is responsible for greeting patients and initiating a positive impression for every patient, family member, and visitor. They will register the patient, gather pertinent information, and educate the patient regarding procedure prep, insurance requirements and billing. The Patient Access Representative will schedule patients for intended services, answer incoming calls, and perform various clerical duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet patients, answer phones, take messages, return calls and provide needed information while documenting accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Register patients and confirm, enter and/or update required demographic data as necessary.
- Obtain copies of insurance card(s) and verify accuracy of information to determine insurance eligibility of patient.
- Communicate patient financial responsibilities and assist patient in accurately completing appropriate forms and documents.
- Collects patient required co-pays, deductibles and patient balances.
- Provide explanation of visit, instructions, and address any patient concerns/questions.
- Schedule appointments for patients according to established procedures.
- Collect and post patient copayments according to facility protocols and prepare/balance daily financial registers.

Job Summary:
Pre-Op/Recovery will use their skills and training to support our practitioners and other members or our healthcare team by gathering patient medical histories, taking and recording vital sign information, supporting patient care, and assisting with minor procedures.

Job Summary:
The Procedure Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and scheduling routine patient procedures as well as complicated surgeries, with associated therapeutic modalities as ordered by the physician. They obtain patient and procedural information and advise patients on surgical preparation requirements and responsibilities. The person in this role assures compliance with scheduling policies and practices through first line problem solving, including research and investigation, interpretation, and resolution and/or escalation as necessary and appropriate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Schedules patient appointments per surgery and/or procedure orders.
- Communicates procedure information and patient instructions appropriately and in a timely manner to patients and/or family, including financial obligations.
- Communicates with providers/physicians as needed regarding scheduling and pertinent educational materials for patients.
- Sends physician orders for procedures to endoscopy and surgery centers as required.
- Schedules surgeries/procedures within established surgical block times with affiliated hospitals as requested by physician.
- Assures schedules are on time and accurate and communicates with support staff when there are delays or cancellations/issues.
- Ensures physician requests are monitored throughout the day.
- Refer scheduling issues to the appropriate decision-maker and be able to provide problem resolution recommendations.

Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse contributes to the company’s mission and supports the company’s values by providing safe, effective patient care during both the pre and post-operative period, in accordance with applicable standards of practice. Working independently, they will admit and educate patients for each procedure, set up procedure rooms, assist the treating physician with all endoscopy procedures, and recovery of patients post-procedure. The RN will be responsible for monitoring vitals and providing discharge information and reports as necessary.

Job Summary:
The Surgery Technician is responsible for assisting medical providers using endoscopes to diagnose or treat patients with gastrointestinal problems. Surgical Technicians will prepare the room and all equipment for appropriate procedures, will provide support to the physician and CRNA/Anesthesia provider while the procedure is underway, handle specimens collected during the procedure, sterilize the equipment post procedure and prepare the room and equipment for the next patient. They are responsible for assisting in pre and post sedation care to patients, escorting patients to and from procedure rooms, assisting the patient with discharge, including helping the patient to transportation when required and are responsible for maintaining inventory on all medical supplies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists surgical team during operative procedures by arranging set-up of instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical cases and passing items to surgeons and nurses as needed during procedures.
- Assemble sterilized or disinfected instruments and recheck all instruments for cleanliness and/or impairment. Properly check power equipment.
- Assists in preparing and moving patients and cleaning instruments, equipment and rooms for next procedure.
- Handle specimens collected during procedures and deliver to the laboratory, exercising extreme attention to detail in labeling.
- Assist in central processing area as required, including escorting patients to GI Lab unit, assisting patients into proper attire, and assisting with pre and post-operative care to include vitals, and pre and post-operative instructions.
- Package clean supplies and instruments, maintain records for all instruments and transport items to the floor.
- Communicate equipment and inventory status to appropriate personnel, including order status, back orders and/or changes.

- 1 year of experience as a surgical technician preferred
- 1 year of Endoscopy experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and moving about a surgical center.
- Consistent need for manual finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination
- Must be able to move around an office/healthcare environment on a consistent basis
