Dr. Hammad is a highly respected consultant and specialist in Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy. He currently serves as Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at King Hussein Cancer Center in Amman, Jordan. Previously, he held the position of Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, specializing in Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy, at the University of Colorado from 2016 to 2024.
Dr. Hammad earned his medical degree from the University of Jordan Medical School and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. He pursued his Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics, where he also served as Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine for four years before undergoing advanced endoscopy training at the University of Colorado in Denver. Additionally, he completed specialized training in enhanced imaging, advanced endoscopic resection, and third space endoscopy techniques, such as endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) and peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM), in both the United States and Japan.
Dr. Hammad’s clinical and research focus includes third space endoscopy, advanced resection techniques, enhanced imaging for early detection of gastrointestinal neoplasia, esophageal disorders, and pancreatico-biliary diseases. He has authored numerous scientific papers, reviews, and book chapters, contributing significantly to the field.
